About Group of 93 from Zahira College
G93 is a social welfare initiative formed by the 1993 O/L and 1996 A/L batches of Zahira College, Colombo. We are part of the Group of 90’s network and are committed to supporting our batchmates and their families during difficult times.
Our focus includes:
- Medical emergencies and life-threatening situations
- Educational support for children
- Housing repairs and relocation assistance
- Funeral and bereavement support
Funding is sourced through Zakat, Sadaqah, donors, and sponsors. All assistance is managed under a Sharia-compliant Sadaqah Committee, and overseen by an Executive Committee elected annually at the AGM.
We maintain transparency by publishing annual financial reports, including income, expenses, balance sheets, and completed projects. To protect the dignity of recipients, we do not disclose individual identities.
G93 stands for unity, compassion, and responsible service—uplifting our own with respect and integrity.
