A Ray of Hope for a Deserving Family
The Group of 93 (G93) of Zahira College Colombo — consisting of the 1993/1996 Ordinary and Advanced Level batches — continues its journey of compassion and community service.
Through various welfare and charity projects, we have strived to uplift the lives of our batchmates and their families, ensuring that every contribution reaches the most deserving hands. Each of our Sadakah / Zakath projects is carried out only after a thorough background evaluation to guarantee accountability and transparency.
Before Construction
Family Background
This housing project was initiated for a family facing severe financial hardship and instability.
The mother, left to manage the household alone, has been struggling to care for her six children — including a son with a disability from birth. The father has abandoned the family due to personal issues, leaving them without financial support or a stable home.
Despite these challenges, the children continue their education with great determination and faith.
Project Objective
After assessing the family’s situation, G93 decided to provide a permanent, livable home to eliminate the burden of rent and to give the children a safe and stable environment.
The project — titled “Sama House” — symbolizes peace, stability, and compassion.
Proposed Property
After careful consideration, G93 identified a partly built property located in the Kolonnawa area, with a land extent of 3 perches.
The plan involves purchasing the property and completing its development into a basic, comfortable residence with:
- Two bedrooms
- Living area
- Kitchen
- Bathroom
- Concrete slab roofing

Project Plan
Once completed, the Sama House will stand as a lasting symbol of generosity and unity — a true representation of the G93 spirit.
The project will be managed and monitored by the G93 Welfare Committee, ensuring transparency, proper allocation of funds, and timely completion.
